Hi All,
I took the bike out for the first ride of the year. We finally got some decent weather up here in Canada for riding. After a couple days of rain, the salt and dirt were washed away so I decided it was time to take out the bike for a spin. I was anxious to get my bike out on the open road after having to store it and wait all winter long.
I put the battery in the machine and started her up. Actually, it took a few cranks of the engine to finally get get her going. I thought I was going to have problems as the engine popped and sputtered for a minute or two. But after some idling the Kat's engine began to purr. I mounted up and started to ride away.
At first she hesitated but after shaking off the after-effects of being stored for almost 3½ months, the Kat roared to life. I did a circuit around town and managed to get over 100mph at one point. I stopped for a quick drink at a store. I went back to my machine and this time the Kat started without a problem. As I began my ride back home a cage driver complimented me on my ride.
Well, I made it home in on piece and put my baby back in the garage. It's good to be back in the saddle again!
