  • reserve switch?

    So my katana is painted and I don't know what the setting are cause they have been painted over. Also what does eat mean. New to this.... Thanks yall

      9 o'clock = reserve, 6 = on, 3 = prime.

      No idea about the "eat"

        Hi Mohawk, it's my guess that you mean...."what does 'it' mean"?
        Reserve is the point on the petcock switch that you turn it to when your bike starts to perform erratically when your fuel gets so low it is beginning to be below the level of the "on" feed.
        It's a warning that your fuel is getting low, so time to find a petrol station and fill your tank.
        A lot of us don't rely totally on the 'reserve', but tend to rely on re-setting the mileometer to '0' when we fill up and start to think about filling up again when it gets to about 140 miles, depending on how hard you ride.
        From memory I think there is about 7/8ths of an Imperial gallon in reserve. Somebody will correct me.
