2003 750 Katana Black 6500 Miles what is worth?

I'm looking to buy a 2003 750 Katana and it has 6500 Miles.
It has few scratches on the fairings nothing too major or deep. Little touch up paint should fix it. Everything is stock on it.
Owner rarely rode the bike and is now considering unloading it.
It runs fine, shifted smoothly and clean title.
Tires have some life left about 65% used. I believe they're the orig. tires that came on the bike.
Fork seals are clean and not leakings.
Has a new battery, fresh oil change, carbs just tuned.

What are they worth? how much should I pay for it? He's asking $3000.

I feel that's a little high and high end of NADA guide.

I'm my neck of the woods, there's a lot of people asking 3k for 750s. Honestly, you can get a better price. Yeah there's not a ton of miles on it, but if you wait until December/January and check criagslist regularly, you should be able to get something in about the same condition for 2-2.5k.

FYI, if you do get that bike, it will need new tires. Yes they have tread left, but the rubber will be old and hard - ie shit traction. Anything over 5 years old is pushing it.
