weird rubber tube sticking out (need help)

I noticed this weird piece of rubber underneath my bike. It seems like a gas vent or something, but definitely not supposed to stick out like that. I looked at my shop manual, but I don't really know what to look for. Thx for your help on what to do with it!

Sure is supposed to be there, among others. that is the air box drain, good to see that the OEM plug is still there. I would pull it to one side, off center of the wheel track.

Oh wow I was far off. So I can play a bit with it to make it less apparent (see pic)

Really doesn't offend if you know what it is. That long makes it easier to grab and pull the plug.

I would check to see if it is still connected to the air box. The one on my post 600 was in the right place but a bit longer than other drain tubes. When I went to check the condition of the air filter I found that it was not connected to the air box and just looked longer than the others because it had fallen down a couple inches.

Mine hung that low, well used too. I should of left it alone. Lol

ahhh so thats the cap....what if i dont have one of these on my vent tube? where can i purchase one if necessary
