  • pre kat600 headlights

Hey guys. I see a post by fjcharlie where he has fitted projectors in his headlights.
Now this is something im eager to do as with running hids will mean i can see more but i want to do it right.
Anyways with his he has a clear lenses where mine isnt. Its a horrible glass thing with patterns and im wanting a clear one.
He had said about vacume forming plastiglass but thats well out of my tallents lol.
So guess what im after is, are there any places you guys know of who sells a clear glass lense?(outside part of the light) Or are there any bikes that have headlights that are a direct fit for the pre600 kats which have the clear outside lense?
Hope you know what im getting at lol.

On pre headlights, the hid is close enough that the lens pattern has minimal to no effect on the light pattern.

      Really??
I thought to have/use hids you had to have projectors!!? See i dont want to go blinding people lol but at the same time if i dont actually need projectors...
with the outside glass lense having a pattern all over it would that throw out hid light beams all over the place or would it be the same pattern at the halegen bulbs throw out?

HID systems were designed to be used with projectors... without something to focus the light they are just bright and blinding everyone else.. HID's dispurce light differently that an halogen.

good luck on that, your existing lens is glass not plastic. making one might be possible.

Glass can be cut down, with enough time and careful work.

                Headlight grind & polish

I seem to remember this same basic process being done by someone on this board, but I can't find in when searching.

All that work for a volvo?
Grinding and polishing glass seems like a fools errand to me.
