  • 95 600 Carb Sync Question

When syncing the carbs, what should I expect the vcuum gauge to read at Idle?

I got it running but very sluggish. I had to get on the road in order to burn off all the fluids I spilled.

    Thanks!

It doesn't matter what it's reading, so long as they are all about the same level.

Also, general practice is to sync carbs 1 to 2, then 3 to 4, then 2 to 3. Make sure they're even in the end. Afterwards I'd suggest you do an idle drop and then sync again.

I know it sounds tedious, but once you do it you'll never NOT do it.

Thanks, I will do it tomorrow. The gauge was bouncing around a bit, but I had to get it out riding to burn that crap off the pipes.

Do you guys do them with the airbox and all installed? Do you do it at idle? If it is a bit rough, should I increase the idle just to keep it running smooth until I get them set close enough?

I don't care how long it takes me, I'll have all night.

Usually sync at 1800rpm, adjust up or down as you go. A gauge will bounce if you don't have a restrictor in the line.

Yes, you need to have the airbox installed to balance properly.
