  • Nube tire question

This maybe a really dumb question, but Im asking anyway.

Can you use a front tire on the rear? I have a 150/70-17 on the rear and I want a taller tire to bring down the rpms at cruising speed. If my math is right If I get a 150/80-17 I can bring them down about 500 rpms. but all I can find for under $200 are front tires. So would a front tire work safely on the back?

    OR

Are there sprockets out there? I looked on ebay and couldn't really find anything besides some stock sprockets. I think the rear sprocket on my 96 600 is 44 or 45 tooth so I was thinking something around 36-40.

    Any thoughts?

P.S. the bike is supposed to save me some $ so that's why I'm lowering cruise rpms and trying to save on the tire. So $300 sprocket kits need not apply.

    Thanks!

Sprockets. Don't use a front tire on the rear, it's not what it was designed for. Contact GSXF Jim here for custom sprockets.

I clicked on this expecting a question about spooning on a 180.
