Does anyone know where and how much I can get carb kits for? I need to rebuild my carbs on a bike i just bought cause the jackass i just bought the bike from didn't take the gas out of it when he stored it for the winter... so it sat for 6 months. It runs like crap and is dieing on me. A buddy wants to help me rebuild the carbs and get it running like new but i gotta find a carb kit.

I got mine at OldBikeBarn.com item#7300-100 @$18.95 each. This kit is listed as 90-95 but I think the 97 is the same, if it is not someone please correct me. -

The kit will not include new float needles. K&L part# 18-8944

The float needles do come with the kit, but it does not include the rubber stoppers.Comment

It's been a while since I bought a kit but if I remember right, that'd be the first kit for these carbs I've seen that comes with the needles. I haven't bought from OBB yet, though. If it does come with the needles then you're looking at $19 each for a $7 needle, $6 bowl gasket and $6 for the o-rings. Not terrible.
Good call on the pilot jet plug. It's also a good idea to replace the fuel tube seals while you've got the carbs apart. They're usually fine and you can re-use them but for the $15 to replace all 4 it's cheap insurance against pulling the things apart again.Comment

I've yet to see a Katana rebuild kit from K&l that didn't have the needles for a katana....
