    Are all aftermarket fuel filters the same?
    Does it matter which one i get for the kat?

    No, definately not the same

    Yes, it matters very much so.

    You need to a high flow, metal granual pressed filter type.

    Paper or fiberous filters will not flow enough fuel through them generally on a gravity fed system like the Kat has, so the filter choice is very important.

    The Post Kats have OEM inline filters if you have problems finding a good option for one. Those work well.

    Symptoms of a poor choice in fuel filters...

    Trapped air bubbles, reduced fuel flow causing surges, lack of power, bike shuts off or runs poorly at higher rpms/speed runs, wants to "bog" when given throttle, poor throttle response... etc...

      okay, glad i asked.

      thanks for the info. any suggestions for cheap aftermarket filters?

        Also make sure that you specifically check that the filter you purchase isn't for a pressurized system.
