  • Bottom fairing scraping before foot pegs?

I have a 2001 katana 600. I Haven't scraped the pegs yet on this bike, but today I took a corner pretty sharp and I could feel the bottom fairing scraping. I've scraped the pegs on my 250 and the yzf600r, but never the fairings.

Is it normal for that bottom fairing to scrape before the foot peg on these bikes?

Did you lower the bike at all?

I did not personally, but the guy who owned it before me may have, it does look pretty low.

So I'm guessing that's not normal?

It's not normal for a stock bike. It IS normal for a stock bike lowered on the stock suspension.

I have my 2000 lowered and it has done it a few times, but if yours is stock then somethings not right. is it just on one side or both? By the way a couple of the times it happened to me, the pavement was uneven.

Something's not right. Even with a fat dude on mine, knee touches first, then peg, never made it past that.

You doing yoga to drag knee?

For me (because my bike is lowered) it's:
                  Lower Fairing
                  Peg
                  Knee
                  Elbow
                  Bar end
                  Torso
                  Side Fairing

Nope, just proper riding position. Knee is the only thing that should ever touch.
