  • stock air filter

okay I got over 20k on the bike now and need a new filter. But where can I get the stock filter? what's a good place to source them online? I tried searching but either I'm a moron right now, or they aren't easy to find.

it's $45 at bikebandit. Is that reasonable for an OEM style paper filter element? seems expensive.

I got mine at my local dealer - in stock & convenient. I like to keep my buying local, even if it costs a couple bucks more.

Some times on ebay you can get a deal on spark plus and a oem filter as a tune up kit.

The Emgo is not as good as the OEM. Cyber Poet made a post explaining it, but basically, although it looks the same, it is not built as well. The stock one has a paper element and some cotton batting in it, the Emgo doesn't. I have an Emgo in my garage that fell apart- the element was barely glued onto the plastic base and fell into the filter box. Before this happened, it was probably leaking, perhaps causing my bad idle (I had other things leaking at the time though).

$45 is the price to pay for something that works right.

                          I replaced a K&N with the Emgo
It ran fine on the K&N ( I can hear Arsenic ) but I hate washing filters
Now BG's Kat/GSXR runs fine with that old K&N
If my local dealer stocked anything I might deal with them
The Emgo is classed as a high flow, works well with my jetting

I just realized the one I got from carbkitscapital.com was an emgo. Sorry.
