2004 suzuki katana engine number

Help me out where is it located and what does it start with???

I need to register it in cali and i can't find it plz help

Above the oil fill plug there is a flat spot on the engine case. I believe the 600 and 750 start with an "R" but I could be mistaken.

750's start with "R7" 600's start "N7" I believe. Ur gonna find it on the right side below the carburetors, on the flat spot just above the oil filler cap

It's easiest to take off the right side fairing to get to it, but it is possible with a flashlight and a few different angles after opening the oil fill access panel. When I bought my bike, there was grime and dirt covering it, so if you can't find it, get a rag and wipe all the crud off. It'll be there.
