    Riding today - I saw a squid

    I went out riding today and saw a young guy on his 600RR - no helmet, no shirt, shorts, and sandals on - but don't worry, he looked cool because he had sunglasses on just in case he wiped out.

    I read in a previous post that people who ride like that are called squids but I can't remember what it stands for. I have rode a few times without a helmet when taking short test drives after working on something (still dumb of me I know) and I can't stand it when a bug hits me in the face - I couldn't imagine bugs and rocks hitting me in the face AND bare chest. Makes you wonder if people like that have a death wish.

      we are surrounded by them....I just saw one with a t-shirt, shorts, and some Alpine Stars racing boots on a gixxer 1000.... wish I had a camera right then....
      Warning!! Will ride at anytime for no reason.

        He may find out the hard way that skin does'nt work as well as leather in a slide.

                  I was told by someone that worked as an Xray Tech that Doc's call us squids because basically in the emergency room (or Mourge) that the riders intestines are spilled out like a squids tentacles.

                    Rexazz2: HILARRRRIOUS post/pic hahah! Good timing on that one

                    Oh man, guys .. down here in Texas (Dallas) it's an "I wish I had a camera" moment when you see somebody WITH protection on. Helmets are pretty few and far between, but that's mainly the cruiser/Harley dudes. Most sport bike riders I've seen actually wear a helmet and gloves at least, but the last few I noticed only had a t-shirt.

                    Then there's the guy who was wearing flip flops.. (how the hell do you shift like that?)
