  • 2002 Katana 600 missing

I ran my bike yesterday and it ran like normal - GREAT
I get on it to day and it is missing when it idles, the tack fluctuates between 900 to 1300 rpm when the engine is warm. Also I noticed when I pull away from a stop light and get the bike up around 3000 rpm and above the missing quits & it runs like normal. But as soon as go back to an idle the missing statrs. Has any one had this happen or can anyone give me some ideas what might be causing this.

Bouncing idle normally is caused by a air/vacuum leak. Check for leaks by using a mildly flamable spray or gas (like an unlit propane torch) and wave around all rubber boots and connections on the carbs. If the rps pick up suddently, then that is a leak.

I did a full tune up when it happened to me
still ran like crap , added half a can of Seafoam to the fuel tank and it cleared up
IMHO try the half a can of Seafoam in the tank before chasing other issues
