akrapovic exhausts

hey guys

this past weekend my friend gave me a brand new helmet ( hjc) that fits my head, a new jacket ( fieldsheer) and an akrapovic can

the can came off some gsxr 750 that was dumped but can was saved.
i took my D&D off and put on the can with some exhaust tape and some TLC. it came out good and no leaks. i also flared out the D&D pipe for the arkpovic to fit on.

now i have better throttle response. more of a deep vvvrroom than a poppy pop sound.

the jacket fits perfect and the helmet fits perfect also, thony thingthat sucks is that the helmet is red, but blue and red go toghter for me. ill just buy some red gloves.

I love the sound and the sive of the can, its haning out the back of the bike, right where the back end stopps/

Akra's are sweet. Top shelf quality, good looks, nice sound. Pricey, but worth it.

hey I've always wondered, what's the purpose of those springs at the can? I think I've seen that the muffler can actually move on the midpipe, does this have something to do with the exhaust pulse?

They allow the pipes to expand and contract with the heat.

They actually hold the pipe together. Its just slipped together and the springs hold them in place. Thats how my header tubes and midpipe are on my serpent.

Akros are great but not reccomended for dragracing. The headers do not hug the oil pan. They actually hang down. They drag bottom too soon. But its an exhaust for road racing and they are great pipes.

Congrats on the the new gear and equipement. Best price around. I heard the pipes only one time but wasn't paying that much attention was watching him doing a wheelie.

the can id have to say is a mix between a v&h and micron. imho. but at least now if i dump i can taiste the rainbow, and not so much pavement

im going to weld hooks on my midpipe to hold the exhaust down better, but right now its not going anywhere.
