Ohio Mini Rally Fun...56 K beware

On Friday, 9.9.2005, I had the pleasure of meeting Damien, COWBOYKJ69, and a friend of cowboy named Mike.

We met up at a Starbucks and then grabbed some grub, took some pics, and took a ride up I-77 to the turnpike. Once there Damien and I headed back home, and Cowboy and his friend continued on to Michigan. Being the youngsters we are, we got a little squidy on our ride, but no more than expected.

Overall it was a great night, I wish we could have done some more riding, but there is always next time. I finally got to hear a couple of D&D's in person... d@mn are those thing loud. It wasnt enough to annouy me just goofing around, but I don't think I'd want to do a couple hours of highway riding on one without some earplugs.

Mike had some awesome rims on his Kat! They were either polished, or chromed... and they could blind you on a sunny day. He isn't on KatRiders.com yet, but he definately has the mod bug.

Damien... you gotta do something about that clutch bro. I don't know how you do it, my hand was tired after just trying to pull it in once or twice.

this is my story. thursday the night before i did maint. oil chain check whole bike tires etc. Friday i skip lunch to head out early at 4pm my buddy mike meets up with me at my work to go i clocked out and hit the road we wanted to miss the 430 5 o'clock b/s traffic. we got to morristown oh and fueled up and ate some not so big and tastys at mccrapples damn i hate the golden arches well tis 15 min after 5 and get on the road again heading 70w to 77n so we can meet up with sam and damien about 10 miles into it our first little incident occured a damn vw bug convertible a new one bright yellow with very good looking seem to be college girl talkin on cell i merge and pass and mike is 15 yrds or so behind passing she decides to merge to almost takin mike out now mind you two new kat 750s crusin round 85 and we both have d&d exhaust i thnk she heard us comin if she didnt she did when he cracked it buy her to "wake" her up. We got to canton around 7pm on friday. met up with damien and b/s for a bit sam was alittle late but thats ok. Off to dinner for them i dont remember wht the reastuarant was called but id like to eat there next time im back sam hint hint lol we then went to sams house to take some pics sams fiance was very nice to take the pics for us but unfortuantly i had to make the visit short to make it to michigan at a "decent" time sam and damien was kind enough to "escort" us to the turnpike that was a very quick run to the pike did i mention i hate the turn pike well me and mike needed fuel and luckily sam was correct on the statement that he didnt sound to sure when he said it the was a station bout 20 miles up the pike fueled up grabed a drink and a smoke got on the pike AGAIN and while just gettin up to speed another merger almost took me out a older gentleman with a new caddy i know alot of people here hate the d&d for bein to loud but if i didnt have one my close call would have been alot closer if he didnt hear me get on the throttle hard i think i scard the shiate out of him cause he got over all the way to the far right lane but never the less im happy that we both have a d&d and as sam stated if i ride any longer than a hr i wear earplugs so that helps.. my visit was nothin abnormal to visiting ur family. the way home was fun all daylight except the last 30 miles but once on the pike we cruised round 90 with a goldwing a cbrf2 me and mike and a very nice ducati. another fun run was outside of canton on 77s a copper colored viper convertible played with us and then a audi tt the rest of the trip was uneventful.... the kat did its job didnt let me down and was comfortable so 879.3 miles was good fast and the katana is way underated and for the record i like the brand 7th gear oil semi syn. shifting seemed smooth

and as for sam and damien i am looking forward to riding with them again then. they are great riders we did get squidly but were young and most of all we were safe while doin it and ya damien get that clutch cable changed i bet u have a serious grip now in that left hand it should not be that hard to pull man lol

lol i can barely type let alone to remember to use periods sorry and im at work so dont have much time but a big thanks to kr for all the info i searched to get everything done on the bike and prepare for the trip my mini tool kit i made up came in handy and the foil trick to change oil thanks guys cant wait to meet more of yall some stand up people and women too sorry yall can kik me in the arse at the kr rally next yr and ill buy the beer

We will surely be riding much more until the evil winter comes. then im gonna try to drag Sam and his woman piece out snowboarding.

I often hear "you spend more time with your bike than you do with me" coming from the old lady.

My canned response is "i dont have to cuddle with the bike after i take it for a ride". Advice: Do not use this unless you are very secure of your relationship!
