  • 50-State Emission Certified?

    Hey all,

I'm new to this forum, but I have a rather strange question. My friend has a 2001 GSX 600F Katana that he wants to sell me. It's only got 4500 miles on it, everything still stock. The issue is that I live in California and the bike was bought and still resides in Pennsylvania.

Are all of the 2001 GSX 600F's 50-state certified in production or did Suzuki make different models? I've scoured the owner's manuel and can't find anything. Since the bike isn't here, I can't see the tags. Anyone have a similar experience with this?

    Thanks!

there are two different models to the Katana. There are the regular models (known as 49 State Bikes) and the CA model. the CA model has extra equipt on them. Look up the 2002 GSX 600F Katana and Look for "E33" in the listings those parts are the CA model Parts.

      Second Air E33 http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/...up/2ND_AIR_E33

      Canister E33 http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/...p/CANISTER_E33

      Cooling Fan E33 http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/...OOLING_FAN_E33

Now i am unsure on the Process of Importing a 49 State bike into CA TDR might have a better idea on that - Or can any CA member might have a better idea- worse case - call up the DMV and get Info.

If you are able to get the bike into CA without the E33 stuff i would jump on it - from what i have gathered over the years here is that the E33 stuff is just a pain in the rear end
