  • Well it was pretty, Bike fell apart on me

I was riding today on hwy 40 over to a friends house, its a long semi twisty road. The bike was running great. Was headed from Hammond to Covington. Was almost there when I felt a thud then a scraping sounds, I got scared but maintained control, lightly braked and came to a stop on the side of the road. Tried to put the kickstand down but the lower fairing was pushing against it, pushed it in and then pulled the kick stand off. Get off the bike and i see this

Some how ALL four bolts of my fender came over, the fender fell off, I rolled over it and it threw it up against the lower fairing, the wheel, and the ground. It tore the fender up pretty bad, possibly cracked the lower fairing, I havent really examined the damage yet because i was so ****ed.

Thanks jess for showing up to help me pick up pieces and follow me back

    Ugh!

At least it didn't lock up with the tire on top of it like a ski. That would have been like trying to brake on black ice lol

the fender can be raplaced but think on the bright side that you are ok and now you can mod the fender into something cool

I think this is common. When I replaced the fairings on my Kat I noticed one of those bolts missing and all the others were about hand tight.
