need to replace my engine

Hello all,
I need to get a engine for my 1998 Katana 750 (bought a 1999 Gsxr-750, unfortunately not a fit) what other engine and year will fit besides the obvious Katana 750. Want something with a little more power. Also would it be a move fit without modifications?

I'm not sure about post98's but pre98 some people have put a kat 1100 motor in them or a bandit 1200 motor

this should work for pre and post kats. i think 2001 bandit 1200 engines had a oil burning problem i think. something with a hole was drilled wrong in the piston, i forget now.

but i think bandit 600, 1200, kat 600, 750 and 1100 and oil cooled gsxr engines(maybe '92 and older ??)

they are dang near exact drop in. as for wiring not to sure

I have a bandit 1200 in mine.you have to use the bandit wiring harness.i have an '92 gsxr1100 engine that needs ahead due to me breaking a bolt off in the head.i have all the new gaskets.i'll take 400 for the engine and the gaskets,but you would have to get a head and i have seen them on ebay as low as 150.and suzuki ray has them also for a nice price..
