  • How are you guys tightening your cylinder head cover hex bolts?

I want to torqe on my valve cover like the book gives me torqe specs for it but I can't reach a torque wrench w/6mm hex bit to the 4 hex bolts on the front side of the engine due to the frame is in the way.

I was thinking it wasn't a high area so I figure people might just be Armstrong torqeing it..how do you guys do this?

I don't have a huge torque wrench either.

Just snug them down. They strip easily.

i had the same problem. I just tried to emulate the torque I put on the front ones using an allen wrench...

Stop slacking and just pull the engine...

Like everybody else said, just snug them up. I use one finger on the hex wrench as my torque limiter.

              Just because they sound the same doesn't mean they are: there≠their≠they're; to≠too≠two; its≠it's; your≠you're; know≠no; brake≠break

I bought a tourqe wrench in a 3/8" drive. Seemed smaller that it's 1/2" drive brotha, and fits in there perfect.

all great comments thankyou I was thinking about getting the smaller one perhaps, I have a 3/8 drive but it's like a 10-100ft lb i need a smaller one anyways tho for other tasks so thats on the list i guess. I just snugged em down should be good. I did for one moment consider pulling the engine haha, and ya the finger torquer would work well.
