Does anyone have a pics or know where I can find the positions of the petcock because when I bought the bike there was no markings of where the petcock should be pointing.

same for posts
Its easy to remember that down is 'run', well because it is there almost all of the time. Sometimes I mix up reserve and prime until I realized that by pointing it towards the rear you are aligning the arrow with the actual exit on the petcock. Maybe it just exists this way in my head, but that tells me that is where it needs turned if I want the gas to come out regardless if the bike is running or not. And for the forward position think that it is helping you realize that you need to get "forward" to a gas station. At any case you at least have a little window into how my head works. Just not the scary stuff...Last edited by Cheriff; 09-09-2009, 12:19 PM.-2000 "750"

Excellent way to think about it.90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.
