Stupid camera died before i could take more. Herein lies the benefit to working in an industrial environment.
I hated the idea of having to buy new mirrors, or an adaptor, or whatever they actually use. To be honest i didnt even look up how most of them are sold and mounted- i figured i'd just throw something together and see how it panned out. Turned out awesome.
I threw a piece of 1-1/4'' high carbon hex stock in the lathe and rounded the edges, bored out a hole for an M6 bolt and countersunk it. then tapped an M10x1.25 hole at a 90 degree angle, and slapped a stainless bolt and rubber washer on and tightened it down. there's nothing special about the mirrors, they're just off the shelf junkers, so now i can shop around and use any style of mirror i think looks good.
ah, and the adaptors weigh about the same as the original anti-vibe ends, and dont require banging out the slugs.
opinions?
