I've never heard of the helmet tap. Never even though about warning people on bikes for cops, but I'm guessing I'd flash my lights like with a car.

They are not a big fan of letting people know they are sitting there waiting haha that was nice though

so you dont warn people about cops that is just mean =)~

twirly-finger or the ol' helmet tap. Most people around here know either/or.

Left hand off the handlebar in a nazi-style salute and move it up and down - probably the same as gytrdunkat.

Hmm. I havn't seen the helmet tap yet. Here in SC we use the flashing light technique during the day. At night I think you are just fair game for the pokeys lol

Now....if we are all obeying the law, we wouldn't be thinking of "what does that signal mean??"
It's not speed that kills, it's the deceleration!

Here it is left palm shown to the other biker, or slow down signal, like "a slow motion basketball player".
Tap on the helmet suggests "stupid"?

In Ohio I see a lot of the twirl in the air...but going south to NC I've seen the tap. Really must be a regional thing.

Helmet for the popo, slow down for anything else, like wildlife or debris.

                        Just because they sound the same doesn't mean they are: there≠their≠they're; to≠too≠two; its≠it's; your≠you're; know≠no; brake≠break

the head tap here means that there is something on the road that could be dangerous

never seen the helmet taps, but I usually twirl my finger in the air to warn for cops.
