It might cost a bit more but you will never have to replace them again...
i'm sure you have seen these on hundreds of actual race bikes and in almost every sport bike mag out there

Generly four places to buy OEM parts:

        local moto dismantlers
        ebay
        here on katriders
online parts distributor, ie Ron Ayers, Bike Bandit etc.
I forgot add, dealer too. So five places

For "an affordable one", is typically here or ebay. The other two are regular businesses with emplyees and overhead to pay.

Another thing to consider is the same part from another model like the Bandit 600. Some of their parts are interchangeable with the Kat. I'll let you do that research.

I have NRC front covers M&R Powder FX did a great job powder coating them, they are black now. I bought them used and the front set was $100, so yeah, not cheap.

But WELL worth it . I also got my set got about the same price , which is actually pretty close to what an OEM starer gear cover goes for through a dealer ...

Yep after comparing the OEM to the NRC it was a no brainer.
I've watched guys toss their bikes down on the track at 150mph and the covers hold up for years with this abuse.
