Replaced broken starter case cover, gasket, oil, and new clutch lever. Thought I could straighten the old one, but it snapped. Rode around and found that I tightened the new lever too much. That was thrilling. Fixed that and added a bit of graphite grease to that area. And dusted ole girl off.

Put about 550 miles and a lot of bugs on it.
It was a great endurance test - plenty of twisties, good fast stretches, strong winds in places, and even some rain.
And along the way, discovered a little slice of the USA in Australia (shame I didn't take more care setting up the photo, but that is in fact "Texas Memorial Hall" in the tiny town of Texas with a population of 900.
The first set of mountains to be crossed.
And some interesting places along the way.

A little time spent in the garage yesterday enjoying a little tinkering and adjusting on the bike. Cover is back on it. Easy to pull off again if I want to do some more tinkering.Jim; 2001 Kat 600 totalled - 2011, 2000 Katana 750 - sold 2013, - Currently riding a 2002 Yamaha FZ1 - - Next bike to be determined.

Stared at it wishing I could get into working on it between hourly bathroom trips for my feverish son.
Have no idea what his deal was... over night, he went from being fine to having a 103* fever with frequent bathroom visits and his temp at midnight this morning was back to 97.7... dafuq...Disclaimer: If what I say seems condescending to you, it's probably not. I don't know (or care) if someone already knows something I'm saying, because for every person that does know, 100 lurkers may not. No offense is intended, but feel free to take it.

Got my 600 tail swap buttoned up
Working figuring out why my crappy eBay blinkers aren't working(hey, they came on the bike ) picked up a 30a relay to do the coil relay mod, a new blinker relay to work with led signals and I started repainting my bike black

Cut the subframe off completely at the frame spars.
Decided the tail and swingarm I'd already had picked out may not actually be what goes on the bike. :/
Hayabusa swingarm just seems to be too wide. I'd rather find something that is the same width as the frame spars, so it doesn't attract attention away from the bulk of the engine area.
I held the tail up at every conceivable angle that I could still make a comfortable seat angle from, and it just doesn't appear to be working. I had reservations about it before cutting off the subframe, I may just end up making a subframe for it from box channel or something.Disclaimer: If what I say seems condescending to you, it's probably not.
