Rear shock for 97 Kat

New to the site and need some help already. Where is the best place to buy a rear shock for a 1997 kat? I have looked on variuos sites but have only found used shocks. I don't believe this will make a diffrence but I have an 03 engine in the bike.

It's not the motor that you should be concerned with, brother Mann. You're right.

Hit the search button and do one on 'shock interchangeability" without the quotes. You'll find a sticky with the information you seek. It will tell you what will bolt right on, what needs some extra effort (like reservoir mounting if you go that route) and what it will do to your bike's geometry. Ohlins (the holy grail), Gixxer, RF's, some Bandits, and up and down the Katana line - all options on the table for you.
