Question about bike stands

I have a dumb question about the front bike stand that goes under the triple tree. the cheapo stand I bought came with a bunch of different pins, but they're all way way smaller than the hole in the bottom of my triple. I have a 94 Kat 600, and the biggest pin I have (marked with # 18 ) is totally loose in the hole. I don't think the bike is actually resting on the pin. I think the triple tree comes all the way down onto the arm of the stand. Is this the way it's supposed to be, or is the pin supposed to be supporting the weight?

i don't think the pin supports the bike, the pin is probably just for keeping the bike on the stand. just use the largest one, it won't be loose with the kats weight on it.
