  • Uh oh. Is this a clutch problem?

The clutch on my 2000 Kat 750 feels "juddery" when taking off. Not so much that it affects my take-offs at all, but when I just start to get into the friction zone, the clutch seems to rapidly grip a little then release, giving the slightly shaky feeling.

Is this a disaster waiting to happen, or a problem that will get progressively worse over time.

And how do I fix it? Is it simple?

Um... did you change your oil recently? Or mess with the clutch adjustment at all?

Oil recently changed by the dealer, just like normal. The bike rides absolutely fine. No clutch slippage at all. Just a little juddery in the friction zone between about 0 and 2 mph in 1st gear.

VERY glad you asked this question because mine is the exact same situation. There is a slight sticky-studder JUST before you get moving... 0-2mph is a very accurately noted.

Ive wondered about this myself for a couple weeks...

Bump - I can feel a "clunking" when I let the clutch out and I'm moving and the engine is idling (but that disappears when I rev the engine, moving, but with the clutch out.)

          Not good. Any ideas?

          Anyone?
