Cleaning outside of motor...

What do you guys use to clean and shine the outside of the motor?

I've seen the main stream stuff out there, like engine brite from GUNK, and another product from black magic or something.

But from experience, what do you guys find works?

i used the pig snot products but i have also used the SP100 stuff.
really couldnt tell that much of a difference though.

Brake cleaner gets off ANYTHING , and I like Purple Muscle (renamed Purple Power I think ) as a general degreaser . Good at getting the stains off the driveway .

Don't use it on your hands though.. It will use the same technology (recovered from the Roswell crash) to remove layers of your skin..

i foam clean it then once its dry i shoot it with a little gloss black - looks new every time!

SImple Green works great. A lot of degreasers are pretty toxic and around here, where everyone has wells instead of public water, you don't want that stuff seeping in.

So carb/brake cleaner is safe for the paint coating I assume?
