Carbs are just to expensive.

The boring is a good idea though, incase those 40's I ordered don't fit, I suppose I could get a 36 or 38mm, and just bore it out.

what engine are you mounting them on, lou? is it an 1100? I don't see why they would not fit. it is only 4mm bigger...maybe a centimeter and a half wider overall.

Mounting them onto my Gixxer 1100 engine, but they have to fit within my 750 frame.
