Had a little spill, thy engine ran fine for a mile of so then locked uop. took the clutch cover off and found this lot inside. The bolt has an oval head on it not a hex. Any ideas?

Looks like a perfect description of "expensive" to me.
No real guess from me, I haven't had the need to go deep on my Kat yet. -
Its a conrod bolt and shell.

Over revving 1..... Over heating 2. Slugging the engine with fuel 3 lack of maintenance and cheap or oil 4. All of thee above.

I don't scrimp on oil, only the best I can find when doing an oil and filter change, I normally spend around Ž£30/45 on the oil. I HAD just done around 130mph but at the time of it committing suicide I was just pulling away from a junction while in traffic doing around 5mph, I had been on the bike for around 2hrs at this point so she was fully warmed up.
Very clearly though something was wrong!! Never had this happen before, though I did once pull my LC350 apart to find a little end and gudgeon pin at around 55 degrees!??
I agree the engine is now spares! Just need the cash to get my hands on a 1200 bandit flint to put in her, maybe time for a weight loss program to while I'm at it
