Electrics won't shut off

Just got back from a 2000 mile trip on the Katana. Enjoyable, but did it in two 1000 mile days. After about 700 miles, I was ready to be done. Anyway, tonight I went for a ride and when I tried to turn the key off the engine turned off but the headlight and taillight and oil and neutral light stayed on. I had to disconnect the positive battery cable. Any ideas as to the cause? Did a search and didn't come up with anything.

If you turned the key off, then power should've stopped being sent to the lights, so seems like there might be a problem in your ignition switch.

Yes, thank you. It does appear to be the ignition switch.
