65000 miles. I did this overhaul because of a heavy oil consumption, it smoked like a old truck, and the spark plugs struggled to stay alive. The most common reason if a Suzuki roadbike burns lot of oil are the valveseals. But to change the seals the head have to be dismantled, and its a small job to change the pistonrings at the same time. I did not open the crankcase for a bearing check/change. Its not a big job, but cost start to escalade... oilseals, o-rings... so on. I gamble with this one. Its always a risk to put new rings in a longmile engine. Because the combusting pressure get higher and if the bearings has a bit too much clearing, a breakdown is just around the corner.. but as i said; i take the chance.
