gsx1100 trans vs gsxr1100,compatible ?

Hi Kats,just a question, I have got the chance of replacing my Buggered trans on my Kat,{second jumps out after 5000rpm} with a gxr1100 trans,Would this trans fit and how would it change my bike,I guess the gear ratio would be different.

Not sure about the swap but if i am not mistaken, the gear ratio's are the same for both the GSX and the GSX-R. Depending on the year.
