Fuel gauge

How do i fix my fuel gauge its don't work its stuck on full! Please help so i know how much gas I have!

Have you checked the wires?

Are they plugged in good?

Did you clean the terminals at the wire connection and at the gauge end?

Check the connection under the right hand side cover. I've found it to be quite fussy.

LoL... I guess that would work for a stripped out Streetfighter type.. But remember when I ran outta gas last week. It still sloshed :P

no gas gauge for the Ninjer, there's a gas light but no gauge. Gotta base your tank off of the mileage...

Just saying you can live without. And i think you already covered how to go through and fix it.

If you disconnect the sending unit the gauge should go to empty. It takes a little while. If it does go to empty the float is probably stuck. When I got my kat the gauge always read full, the float was rusted in the full position.

if the live wire is grounded out, it will read full. in fact, that is how you test a guage....ground out the live wire and it should max out on the full side.
in reverse, if you have a faulty ground, it will go to empty or settle somewhere in between empty and full, but not full.

so check the live wire.
