    Why do Moto gp riders take their foot off the peg and stretch their leg out straight before entering a corner?

    They have done this since the days of board track racing, it's a way of adding counter balance Valantino Rossi has brought it back into fashion.

      as well as adding weight to help get the bike over, it also deters others from sliding up the inside

              It could be that you've altered your riding position to compensate for pain in your ribs and by doing that created a new pain somewhere else.

              I've done similar things, somethimes find myself sitting slightly twisted on the bike for no apparent reason...
