  • Car hits my Kat down in Parking lot

I have been extremely careful riding motorcycle on road.. Last saturday afternoon, I was going out and my heart missed a beat to see my Kat down on its left side. I usually park it in the designated parking space and we at the apartment share it with Cars.
I had covered my bike in the usual black colored cover..
I think somebody could have tried to park right the night.. Anyways, I saw a note on the bike with the person's name and insurance number.
The paint on the left fairings have been scraped along with other places.

The Insurance Adjuster should be coming today to see my bike... My question is will this affect the selling price of the bike? I mean accident history etc.. I am also not sure where to get the paint job done..
    Regards

If someone else's insurance is paying, take it to the closest Suzuki shop for repair.

        That happened to my husband.

You are lucky the person left their name and insurance info. That doesn't happen all the time.

nope it sure doesnt happen all the time. 2 weeks ago one of my coworkers hit my bike in the parking lot. I still dont know who it was and they just drove off and left it laying there.

Youre lucky that they left their info. Most dont. Go to the Suzuki shop and get damaged parts replaced, not painted over. Find a different parking place and put something on your dark cover to alert drivers of a bike there. Most likely they did not see it in the dark. Or could not judge the distance.

could be kind of funny to make a draw out of a bike using some neon night tape.. lol... gl with the fix. You should thank the person for leaving their info. but kick them in the teeth for hitting your bike.

nice that the person is paying for it. That how everyone should be but then again...heh..

my neighbour hit my car and ther was a small dent on the rear bumper. So he came and told me about it. I took a look at it and ive got a 94 model mazda 323. Its not like I care..

I told him dont think about it and he got very happy.

As for the selling price after the repairs, over here no one would know or care. If you fix it somewhere decent.

Some of you guys are hilarious. Nothing but rancor and verbal abuse of dealerships when YOU are paying, and the same for folks who drive cars, but when somebody does the right thing after a true accident, you want to financially rape the poor guy.

                  Freakin' HILARIOUS.

Perhaps you've missed my point here. I've never slandered a dealership, nor suggested that they did inferior work. ramkumar asked where to take it for repair after an accident.

If I was paying to repair it myself, I would start calling auto body shops for quotes on getting the paint done, and do the mechanical assessment myself. Paying for the parts out of pocket.

Now since I happen to know ramkumar, and I know that he doesn't have a garage to work in why would I give him advice that leads him down a path where he might not get his bike back on the road this season?

Surely as an automotive technology instructor you value the reasonable nature of making sure a job gets done correctly within a timely fashion.

You are lucky. The guy that ran me off the road never slowed down. The fact that this guy/girl left insurance info when they knocked over your bike is impressive. He/she is a class act in my opinion. Give them a call and thank them for being honest.
