I got my Kat from my dad who decided he preferred his Harley (his loss, my gain, right?). Once I got the bike home to Texas from Central Florida, I put her up on the stand and went to work cleaning the road grime off. As I was cleaning, I noticed more and more little signs of needed TLC. Bolts or clips missing, fairings scratched or tore up from road rash (in particular, the belly fairing from the bike being lowered too much). So this thread is my way of documenting my new baby's transformation. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy!
This first set of pics is from when I first got her home this July and after I removed all the fairings today to start cleaning/prepping/painting. All I am doing for now is laying on 5-6 coats of matte black PlastiDip to protect the fairings from any more damage (yes, i forgot to take the Suzuki stickers off the lower fairings, but I'm not too worried about it right now. Will probably use it as a template to paint over later). Also going to be replacing the "pig spotter" mirrors, that had replaced the original big uglies, once I put her back together.
