I only smoked the windscreen and the turn signals with the nightshade. They still let pretty much the same amount of light through, it just isn't bright orange. I was also concerned about that, but after I was done it wasn't an issue. The tail light is a "smoked" one that I purchased.

All factory. I haven't added or changed anything besides the exhaust. No need to mess with new headers on the Kat's.

I do recommend re-jetting the carbs because it definitely needs it, but I just haven't yet.
