  • Stuck with Blue

I got to ride it for the first time this year (Took forever to paint and get it back together). I did the new tail section on my 2000 600.. I went from Dark blue (pic in my garage) and painted the whole bike a couple shades lighter with a slight pearl. I've attached some pics of process and some new pics of the bottom cowl I painted to look like carbon fiber (I figured I would try painting it first and If I didn't like it, get it wrapped.. But I thought it came out pretty good.) I will get some pics this week of it outside and not in the dark garage. Let me know what you think

    * Only pic with clear is the bike put back together.

It was actually really simple.... Sanded down, Gloss Dupli-Color Black. And then BFM0236 Light Charcoal Dupli-color.. And the pattern is Shelf liner that you can buy at any retail store that sells pots and pans. its the liner you put in your cupboards on the shelves. Lay it on the piece spray the Charcoal and then clear.. (practiced on a cardboard box a couple of times)I was impressed on how well it came out..

Was this your first project? I've never painted before is there a write up somewhere

Nice effect with the liner paper. You can also get some great effects with lace doing the same technique.
