Took a little ride around LA Saturday. A few of the sights:
Any tour of SoCal must start out at a famous intersection :
It sure didn't look like this back in '92.
Had to hit up the nudity in the park... Exposition Park, that is. The entrance to the Coliseum. Sculpture courtesy of the '84 Olympics.
Then it was up the street to Staples Center.
It's 4:20 at the L.A. Convention Center!
They dedicated Chick Hearns' statue at the North Entrance courtyard last week. There is an empty chair next to the Chick at the table and people can sit at the announcer's table next to Chick and take a picture.
One of our more famous transplants is honored in the courtyard.
Oscar is there but I think it's just because he's L.A.'s favorite son.
And the only reason there is a courtyard full of statues in the first place:
This was a cool shot in front of the Disney Concert Hall, downtown.
... well, it was cool until one of L.A. County's finest showed up and "insisted" that I move my bike.
He even called for backup. I felt so honored.
