Well I would argue that the shorter they are the more out of harms way the levers are and therefore don't need the balls..

Buy some PAZZO LEVERS ($149.99 ebay), they r short and quick!!! That would be ur best bet.

it was my understanding that the balls are their to prevent the levers from becoming lodged in you in case of an accident...the balls are a protective measure lol although some could argue that point

There are some floating around here, but the site has been acting wonky for me the past few days, with no pictures loading and such, so me trying to search would be an effort in frustration.
