  • A few pics from my ride yesterday...

So, me and a couple friends decided, since the weather has been nice lately, to take a little ride.. 215 miles total and about 100 miles of some of the most technical roads in the area. All I can say is, "WHEW". I was totally drained by the time I got home. Enjoy:

Map of the route we rode

My Kat, my bud's VStrom 1000 and Vulcan 800 classic, at junction station (where Del Puerto Canyon Rd. crosses with San Antonio Valley Rd.)

Parked at the top of Mt. Hamilton

Great View (Mark, he rides the Vulcan) you can see a bit of the road up in the background

Two of Lick Observatory's six domes. (thought my helmet kinda resembled one)

Stopped for lunch, 114 miles in. (Mark, Ich-Vstrom, and yours truly)

Shot of dusk during last stop before we slabbed it home the last 30 miles.

Looks like it was a great ride. San Antonio Valley? Isn't that where Lake San Antonio and Naciamento Lake are? I used to water ski at San Antonio longgggggggg ago, last time I was there was around 20 years ago.

San Antonio Valley CA-130, is just the name of one of the roads in the area. Lake SA is about 200 miles south of where we were, down by Fort Hunter Ligget, south of Salinas.

          Nice post, and great pics.

Looks like you need a new front tire though! I may be wrong...

Ya, we lucked out with the weather for a while. I was thinkin of puttin around on my kat today but I just don't feel up to it right now. That must have been like a 5 hour trip?

7, but we stopped for about half an hour for lunch. I'd say a good solid 5 1/2 hours in the seat.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. I would love to see more pics of the riding from Cali. I'm seriously considering a move there in the future.
