  • 2008 Tulsa ABATE Toy Run (12/14/08)

Ok, this was the biggie ride of this region. The turn out for this event was incredible -- then again, the weather was 70 degrees by ride time -- dropping to 20's that night!

I had a great time and saw a whole different crowd than the previous weekend's event. I hope you enjoy the photos. I'm pretty sure I had the only Katana -- or one of the only ones there. Sure, there were some pretty sport bikes -- including Suzukis, but not any other cans of tuna.

Damn I would have gone out there for that one. Then again, I would have had to ride home in that stupid ridiculous cold front. >

I think we all had to take passengers if we saw them wandering around aimlessly through the lineup rows.

No, the 10K includes spectators along the route. (Although next year, I hope to be confident enough to take a passenger.)

The other toy run: http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.php?t=91355 was a lot smaller by comparison.

Ha ha ha! We're coming out of the woodwork! Rock on! Where were you in the line up? Were we all relegated to the proverbial back of the bus?
Since this is your first post.... Welcome to KR! We need to form a Katana ride in Tulsa County....when the ice melts!

The only Katana, such a disappointment.

Nope, it sounds like I had a few others sprinkled among the cruisers. Enjay, you should drive down here next year to join us! Heck, we ought to have the next KR road rally in the Sooner State. (That way I could go, "So, YOU'RE Arsenic...") Of course, I imagine Enjay that your New York accent may give it away -- that and you asking us Okiehomans why there are so many twisters. Hahahahahaha.

Enjay, for what it's worth, did you like the purple and white bike in the photo titled "Chick Bike"? Granted, it's a cruiser, but...

ya i have been on this site for about a year but never signed up but when i saw your post i had to say i was there too.. as far as the line up i was in the first 200 bikes or so i got to the line up at about 10:20 so i was up close. i was even with the sky ride.

as far as a kat ride i ride all the time usually try and make it to Arkansas ( roads are better ) but there are a few good roads closer.

you should hit me up on the local forum tulsasportbikeriders.com same screen name
