                    I would say you take the wheels off, un bolt the rotor or tape it off 9 center to be painted piece), sand it so the paint will stick, primer and then apply the color of your choice...i have thought about doing that to my bike.

                        Or you can take them to the powdercoating shop and have them done that way. Then the finish will be more durable. Either way.

                              That's because your's is a 98. Started in '03 I believe with the black. The same year the went to the flat rotor instead of the beveled one like most of us have.
