you can see in the video that he hit a dip in the road surface, right before the tankslapper started....there is some interesting reading out there on the net if you do a search for "tank slapper"....causes, physics involved, etc...

I believe cyberpoet wrote that a steering damper is unnecessary on a Katana because the rake angle of the forks combined with the length of the wheel base creates a steering geometry that settles almost all steering oscilations aside from extreme situations ( I would think a steering damper couldn`t help you there)
