  • Boots!

    Hello,

First I just want to thank everyone for the welcome in the intro section. I appreciate it.

I passed the written / classroom portion of the MSF course last night, so I get to ride Saturday morning. The bad part is that, while I bought my jacket, helmet, and gloves, I do not have a good pair of riding boots (or any boots that go above my ankle for that matter). I need to get a pair by tomorrow, since it is the only piece of gear that the school does not lend out. What do you guys recommend? I am not sure how much I am looking to spend. It depends on the boot. Do dealerships "rent out" gear? I know I should have seen this coming, but I did not realize the school would not lend me the boots until last night.

    Thanks!

    -Chris

For a temporary solution just go the walmart and buy a cheap pair of work boots, then later you can get some good riding boots.

I would avoid steel toe boots. They can be a little difficult to get under the shift lever. When I took the MSF I used my hiking boots.

I will swing by wal-mart / any discount shoe store and take a look.
