Do I really need to take out all the foam padding and armor in my jacket (or pants too) before washing it? That will be a pain and I dread the idea of having to put it all back in correctly. Any other suggestions or ideas?

Let's see, do you really want to kill the padding with the heat from the dryer? Do you really want the foam to soak up water like a sponge in the washer? Take it out.

Actually, I'm kind of wondering about this as well. I've got a nice leather jacket or two. I know how to use something on the leather to clean it and condition it, but how do I clean the non-removable liner? Take it to a dry cleaner? Someone that specializes in leather? Just use a anti-bacterial spray?

I just wear a shirt under my leather and wash it.
