Have you asked about PRK? That's what I had. LASIK wasn't suggested because of a scar on my cornea, too.

I wear glasses with thin titanium frames. I've gotten to where I can put the helmet on with the glasses on, which is a lot less hassle most of the time. I've not tried the reverse yet. The helmet is brand new and fits tightly, but most of the time I can get it on without messing up my glasses. Once or twice I've had to adjust them after I got it on.

As far peripheral vision is concerned, I just press the glasses as close to my face as I can as soon as I have the helmet on and I do fine. If they happen to slide down my nose a little bit they can obstruct my view some, so I just push them back up. But that seems to be rare.

My helmet is a Speed and Strength SS1000 full face.

You could check into original KD sunglasses, they can be fitted with prescription lenses at most eyeglass shops.

They are made for riding, designed to fit under a helmet, and fit tightly at the temples and nose-bridge to help block the wind on those "visor up" moments

            Check out www.originalkds.com

I went to the warehouse a couple weeks ago, and these glasses are rock solid. I use them everyday.

              Very interesting, thank you.
I usually ware my cheep worn out helmet for short rides because it's such a PIA to fit my glasses under my good helmet which I ware for the long multi-hour rides.
              This could be the answer?
