  • HJC Helmet CL-14 Prime.......help

Hey guys im thinkng about his helmet my HJC. Its the CL-14 Prime. What do you guys think about this helmet. I can get it for $125 from this dealer near by. They are going out of bussiness so they are selling cheap.

    Features:

Shell: Ultra Light weight complex polycarbonate shell.
Ventilation: ACS ventilation system featuring raised air flow channel combined with 7 vents.
Interior: Superior fit and finish with plush Nylex interior.
Others: Ultra secure, 2 stage shield pivot mechanism.

Is this a good helmet?? Whats the difference between polycarbonate shell and complex fiberglass weave shell(more expensive HJC helmets). Do you guys think i should go ahead and buy it???

I have a CL-12 and a CL-14 PRIME, I like both, the only issue is the shield staying up. Like if you want a bit more air and raise the shield one notch, it won't stay there above a speed of 55 mph. Otherwise a great helmet for the price.

HJC's are very good helmets. And generally very affordable..Ive found though they allow quite a bit of wind noise so ear plugs are a must though, IMO. But still, you cant argue w/ the price and overall quality of the lid.

i think thats too much for that lid. You can probably find the same on online for less

i have a CL-14 MAXII and its alright... kinda noisy in the wind. i'm not sure how it compares to the "prime" version.

I tried on my brother in laws HJC tonite..well he's not actually my bro in law, he's my brothers wife's brother..so whatever he is to me, I have no idea..but anyway, I took out his old KZ1000 tonite which by the way he's tricked out putting down 180 HP to the rear wheel..but anywho..

I wore his HJC and my ears were ringing after a few mile ride around town. Didnt have my ear plugs with me.

I have a HJC CL-14 and the lid will stay up one notch up to about 60. But at those speeds Id rather have the lid closed anyway

Very good point!! even tucked down on your tank the wind whistling thru your lid is enough to be uncomfortable and almost throw your head around alittle bit when its open.
